Master of Nursing at IHM Australia   

The Master of Nursing at IHM is designed specifically for:

• Registered nurses who hold a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification from outside Australia
• AHPRA-registered nurses already in Australia who want to advance to leadership and specialist roles
• International nurses seeking to build the academic foundation and clinical knowledge needed for Australian nursing practice

This is not a programme for people with no nursing background. Applicants must already hold a recognised nursing qualification and be currently registered (or eligible to register) as a nurse in their home country.

Academic Requirements

• Completed Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent qualification
• Currently registered as a nurse with AHPRA or with the Nurses’ Board/Council in your home country

English Language Requirements

• IELTS (Academic): Overall 6.5, no band below 6.0
• PTE (Academic): Overall 59, no band below 52
• OET (Nursing): Minimum C+ in each component
• EAP (English for Academic Purposes): Minimum 70% pass

International Students On Campus

• Annual tuition: AUD $24,000
• Total tuition (2 years): AUD $48,000
• Administration fee: AUD $250 (one-time, non-refundable)
• Per semester fee: AUD $12,000

Payment schedule:

• Semester 1: AUD $12,250 paid on enrolment
• Semesters 2–4: each paid before the end of the prior semester

FEE-HELP is available for eligible domestic students, the Australian Government loan programme that allows you to defer tuition costs. FEE-HELP is not available for international students.

Step 2: IQNM Assessment: Submit your application to AHPRA with a non-refundable assessment fee of AUD $640.

Step 3: Orientation Part A: 90-minute online video orientation and quiz completed online.

Step 4: Portfolio Stage: Upload all required attested documents through the AHPRA portal.

Step 5: NCLEX-RN: Sit the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) at a Pearson VUE test centre. Fee: USD $350 total (~AUD $504) covering registration ($200 USD) and international scheduling ($150 USD).

IHM provides a 100% scholarship for NCLEX and OSCE preparation to enrolled Master of Nursing students; this preparation support is free.

Step 6: OSCE: Sit the Objective Structured Clinical Examination, a clinical simulation assessment conducted by AHPRA. Fee: AUD $2,000.

Step 7: Orientation Part B: Final orientation stage before registration is granted.

IHM offers Outcomes-Based Assessment (OBA) preparation at no cost to enrolled students, including NCLEX and OSCE preparation through its Careers Advancement Programs.
